Ruggero’s Fine Italian has been reborn on Oakland Park Blvd. Fans of the previous location at Sunrise and Federal will be gratified and invigorated by the exuberant energy and passion of Ruggero’s new Executive Chef, Giovanni Filippone.
Filippone blends Sicilian culinary roots, bold flavors and classic traditions with fresh, seasonal, quality ingredients. During a sampling of the menu, guests enjoyed the Brusquetta Alla Burratina crafted with roasted plump tomatoes on a crisp basil-basted baguette. Antipasti dishes included a lightly breaded eggplant stacked with seriously fresh mozzarella and the fresh citrus seafood marinade that was appetizing in taste, texture and presentation. The Pappardelle dish was a masterful combination of fresh pasta with jumbo shrimp, fresh tomatoes and arugula with a white wine truffle sauce, served with addictively delicious bread.
With fresh seafood combinations, enticing wine pairings by Ellman Family Vineyards and creative, but authentic Italian creations, Ruggero’s Ristorante on Oakland Park is destined to become a part of many memorable dining experiences. They are open Monday – Saturday at 5 p.m. The daily happy hour from 5-7 p.m. features half-priced drinks and a bar menu that includes fresh pizza from the brick oven.
