Several hundreds of people gathered at the 2016 South Florida VegFest , marking a great turnout and a successful day for the plant-based community. Celebrating plant-based living, VegFest brought consciously-minded South Floridians together with food samples, activities for kids, performances, chef demonstrations, and 125+ vendors at the Fort Lauderdale War Memorial Auditorium.
Some notable favorites included The New Vegan, Shawnee’s Greenthumb Popcorn, Nutri D’Light Fit Arepas, Arrow Green Label, and the Compassionate Farming Education Initiative. Raw foods took a front seat at VegFest with Brain Clement’s “Living Foods for Optimum Health” talk and Melanie Haraldson’s Raw Vegan cooking demo, “Natural Ways to Restore Your Gut Health.” Also noteworthy, Mark Kaylor spoke about the powerful medicinal properties of mushrooms, Doug Tessler raised Sound Healing vibrations on the didgeridoo, and George Love led a delightful Qi-Gong Moving Meditation.
Overall, the theme was cruelty-free, compassionate living. An Organic Sustainable Wine Happy Hour brought the plant-based day of festivities to a close. No doubt, there was something for everyone! #vegfestexpos #eatplants #crueltyfree #365vegan
