“We are Haiti”

We are HaitiFriday, November 11, 7pm-10pm – Soho Beach House, Ocho Library, 4385 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach

“We are Haiti” is a philanthropic celebration of Haitian arts & culture created by Haitians for Haiti in partnership with Cool Creative inc, Pauldine France, Tracy Destin, and Haitian Cultural Art Alliance. The feature Haitian musical artist, Paul Beaubrun, will perform, along with Haitian folklore drum & dancers by Maximillian, inc. Beaubrun is best known for playing alongside renowned artists such as Lauren Hill, Sheryl Crow, Arcade Fire, and Maxwell. The library will simultaneously serve as viewing stage for two documentary films playing continuously throughout the event. One of the documentaries being shown is backed by APJ  and produced by David Bell and the other one is Resilient Hearts a documentary film inspired by the catastrophic earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12, 2010. The library will also feature Haitian art curated by Najja Moon of Gypsy Socialite. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Fonkoze, Haiti’s largest Microfinance Institution, and The Jack Brewer Foundation, an international philanthropic initiative focused on “empowering from within.”
