Winter Party, the week-long festival of iconic dance and social events produced to raise critical funds for the LGBTQ community, has announced a total revamp of its social event and art exhibit ArtScape, to celebrate its 25th edition, February 28 – March 6, 2018, in Miami Beach. Now in its 10th year, ArtScape seeks to bridge the gap between LGBTQ artists and the mainstream art world, standing out as the platform in Miami showcasing works by LGBTQ artists while benefiting the National LGBTQ Task Force and local South Florida LGBTQ nonprofits. The event is making significant strides towards becoming the world’s premier destination for LGBTQ art and collectors.
ArtScape is entering a new dawn with its new Chair, artist and curator Jennifer Maria Córdoba Alvarez, who curated the very first edition of the event when it was known as the “Women Arts Exhibit.” Some of the new features for this year’s exhibit include a new, prime location at the FIU Communication, Architecture and The Arts space on Lincoln Road, a meticulously curated selection of LGBTQ artists and a special guest Judge. To ring in Winter Party’s 25th Anniversary, ArtScape will unveil “Winter’s Rainbow,” a collaboration between LGBTQ artists in honor of Gilbert Baker’s Rainbow Flag, and will have the privilege of welcoming guest Judge Alpesh Kantilal Patel, PhD, Associate Professor of Contemporary Art and Theory at FIU with a background at the Whitney and Guggenheim museums.
ArtScape’s opening will be held Friday, March 2nd from 7-10 pm ET at the FIU CARTA on 420 Lincoln Road, Suite #440, Miami Beach, FL 33139. Advance tickets are $30.00 per person which include complimentary cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and live music by HÉNESEAS. This exhibition raises visibility and funds for the National LGBTQ Task Force and local South Florida LGBTQ non-profits. #WinterParty25 #WinterPartySocial @winter_party
