Unmask Breast Cancer at the 6th Annual Shades of Pink Masquerade Ball

Unmask Breast Cancer at the 6th Annual Shades of Pink Masquerade BallTuesday, October 25, 7-11pm – Trump International Beach Resort, 18001 Collins Avenue, Sunny Isles Beach

To celebrate October Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation hosted its Sixth Annual Shades of Pink Masquerade Ball fundraiser. The theme of “unmasking” supported the foundation mission to fund research in the State of Florida that will help “unmask” new treatments and find a cure. On Tuesday, October 25 at the Trump International Beach Resort guests came with an array of fascinating masks to support the foundation efforts. The night was full of excitement and featured a best mask contest, dancing, as well as great grand prize give away, a Lanson Rose champagne toast, fundraising, and so many moments that truly made the Shades of Pink Masquerade Ball a night to remember. The event was a success, attracting over 140 influential community members, breast cancer supporters, advocates, survivors and volunteers.

In celebration of the Sixth Annual “Shades of Pink” yearly fundraiser the top four leading breast cancer champions were recognized to reward their diligence in the fight against breast cancer. The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation honored: Robert Dearstine, Seminole Casino Hollywood; Alejandra Perez MD, Memorial Breast Cancer Center; Jonathan R. Weiser MD and J. Craig Uecker, MD, Physicians Institute of Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery. These champions were recommended by people within the community, and come from a variety of disciplines which demonstrate that breast cancer has no favoritism and no boundaries.

This year’s creative black-tie event featured exclusive auction items that ranged from a hot air balloon ride to a Paris getaway, music by AM Productions, Inc., a grand prize 2012 Hyundai Sonata Lease give away generously donated by Potamkin’s Miami Lakes and Kendall Hyundai, and much more. This night was not made memorable just by the fun that was had but the unity of the guests that attended especially to commemorate and support individuals who are fighting and/or have survived breast cancer. Together we will breast cancer! For more information about this or future events, please contact Muriel Sommers, Development Manager, at 305.631.2134 or visit, www.FloridaBreastCancer.org.
All monies raised stay in the State of Florida to support Florida’s residents and institutions and the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation’s mission to end breast cancer through advocacy, education, and research.
