Sergio’s Restaurant continues to celebrate the universally beloved staple of Cuban cuisine, the croqueta. To celebrate the second annual Croqueta Day, Sergio’s is gifting guests with a complimentary croqueta with purchase on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m at all Sergio’s locations. The simple recipe at the base of this concoction – flour, breadcrumbs and lots of frying oil – allows them to be enjoyed in an infinite number of combinations.
Several restaurants and brands, including the Miami Heat, Miami Marlins, Smith & Wollensky Pubbelly, and Grazianos Restaurant are partnering with Sergio’s to commemorate the Cuban snack’s official day by preparing their own original croqueta-centered dish using Sergio’s croquetas. They are sharing their croqueta creations using the hashtag #mysergioscroqueta during the week of Croqueta Day from October 1-6, 2019.
Last year, Sergio’s celebrated their biggest milestone yet with more than 20 million croquetas served to the people of South Florida. To mark the occasion, Sergio’s took part in a celebration with the city of Miami to celebrate both the remarkable achievement on Sergio’s part as well as Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez’ proclamation of Oct. 1, 2018 as the official “Croqueta Day” in Miami-Dade County. The celebrated Cuban chain has thrived by sticking to a winning combination of flavorful, authentic Cuban cuisine and a commitment to family and community-oriented dining. #mysergioscroqueta @sergioscuban
