Thirteen Hours – Citywide – A Cultural Takeover! Over 150 unique arts experiences at more than 80 venues will draw thousands to the streets and sands of Miami Beach for the year’s largest cultural arts event. Five premieres will be part of the programming offered, ranging from street theater and contemporary sound performances to aerial dance and eclectic routines that blend a range of mediums. Celebrated artists from Europe, Latin America and the U.S. will introduce their latest work to the tens of thousands of cultural and entertainment enthusiasts throughout Miami Beach from sundown to sunrise. From Barcelona see Sarruga, a street theater troupe accompanied by electronic music, lighting and pyrotechnical effects; from Brazil Livio Tragtenberg will present The Cabinet of Dr. Strange, a video sound performance; from San Francisco Project Bandaloop, an aerial dance troupe, and The Carpetbag Brigade will present shows that draw from acrobatic stilts, physical theater, modern dance, circus and more; and from Southern California Tim Miller, an internationally acclaimed performance artist will explore the artistic, spiritual and political topography of his identity.
