In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Friends of St. Jude (FOSJ) Miami, the young professionals group dedicated to raising awareness and funding for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, invited the South Florida community to the 10th Annual International Dermatology It’s All About the Kids signature event, presented by the Andres Asion Foundation.
This year, FOSJ Miami recognized community activist and philanthropist, Wendy Grant, with the Stephan Gutierrez Award. Wendy had been part of FOSJ Miami since its inception and her tireless dedication to the mission of St. Jude has been unparalleled and worthy of this recognition.
“Both my parents passed away from cancer and I saw firsthand the grueling effects of this disease,” said Wendy Grant. “My heartfelt belief is that no child should suffer from cancer. Children should be out in the playground with their friends, not getting treatments in hospitals. All kids deserve a chance in life and cancer has impeded that for too many.”
International Dermatology served as the event’s title sponsor for the ninth consecutive year, and the presenting sponsor, for the past seven years, was the Andres Asion Foundation. The event featured a tasting menu with dishes inspired from around the world and cocktails, as well as entertainment by Cuban music sensation, Jacob Forever, and DJ Mike Russell.
