Craft beer afficionados flocked “back to the Grove” to usher in the annual Grovetoberfest, the largest craft beer festival in South Florida. As previous festival attendees know, Grovetoberfest is the perfect venue bringing in the best flavors from local and regional breweries.
Grovetoberfest put together a great lineup including “first time” pours from 81 Bay Brew Company, Aslin Beer Company, Hidden Springs Ale Works, Lord Hobo Brewing, Ocleot Brewing, and Proof Brewing Company. Some returning heavyweights included 3 Sons Brewing Co., Octave Brewing, and Odd Breed Wild Ales. Additional returning breweries included Angry Chair Brewing, Civil Society Brewing, and J. Wakefield Brewing. In addition, Grovetoberfest featured selections from LauderAle Brewing, 26° Brewing Company, and 81Bay Brewing Co. The Homegrown Pavilion delighted beer drinkers with a collection of up and coming Florida brewers, something which excites beer connoisseurs, because often enough these brewers are next in line to open a brewery.
As in past years, the Kitchen Lab did not disappoint with its chefs and demos. Presented by Macy’s, big names showed up and showed off their best dishes that pair well with beer. Grove Bay Hospitality Gorup, Stiltsville Fish Bar, American Harvest, Stubborn Seed and Chef Giorgio Rapicavoli were all in attendance. Guests were privy to samples such as shrimp infused with craft beer and corn grits and more.
