The Museum of Discovery and Science will celebrate its 25th Anniversary on Thanksgiving weekend, November 24-26, 2017 with special activities, prizes, science experiments and the opening of the 1992 Time Capsule.

Anniversary celebration activities include the opening of the 1992 Time Capsule on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 2 p.m. and filling a new time capsule for 2042! Guests can participate in STEM table tops containing a variety of simple, yet challenging, experiments to dazzle even the most scientific minds, turtle races, prizes, and more. Activities are included in the price of exhibits admission. Help celebrate and enjoy cupcakes and hot dogs for the whole family.

The Museum began its history as the Discovery Center, a hands-on museum of art, science and history, in 1977 in the historic New River Inn. Over the course of the next few years, several other historic buildings became part of the Museum’s complex.
