Exhibition Reception of “Portraits”

Exhibition Reception of "Portraits"Friday, February 2, 6pm-9pm – Bailey Contemporary Arts, 41 Northeast 1st Street, Pompano Beach

This is an exhibition that brings together two artists that use portrait photography as their artistic medium: Keliy Anderson-Staley and Stephen Gaskins. Keliy Anderson-Staley’s [hyphen] Americans is a diverse collection of American faces made across the country. The title of the project refers to the hyphenated character of American identities without labeling anyone’s actual identity. The portraits are all wet-plate collodion tintypes, made using nineteenth-century recipes, period brass lenses, and wooden view cameras. This process was the first widely used to make photographic portraits. @BaCAPompanoArts
