The Little Lighthouse Foundation’s, (“LLF”) Hearts & Stars Gala: The Temple of RA, Egyptian themed party took place at the Miami Design District’s Jungle Plaza/Palm Court. Guests enjoyed a top shelf open bar featuring Ketel One Vodka, wine and Italian sparkling wines from Tita Italia Wine & Delicatessen, STARR rum, Fishers Gin, Tequila Revolución, beer from Biscayne Bay Brewing Company and food tastings from some of South Florida’s top restaurants and caterers including Habitat Miami Beach, Pizza Dude, Delicious Catering Services, Amour de Miami, Eat Clean, LLC, Chill-N Nitrogen Ice Cream Pinecrest, Cake Lounge Miami, Barsecco, Coffee Hub Café, Fresh Meal Plan, Jack’s Miami, Roberta’s, La Moderna Miami, Xochimex Cantina Grill, and Paris 6 Miami. In addition, guests enjoyed FIJI Water, Harmless Harvest coconut water, Fusion Energy Drink and LaCroix Water sparkling water, as well as an interactive photo experience by the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino – Hollywood, and a special performance by The Bodyshop Experience. Camila Banus and Jonathan Duerr hosted and music was provided by Rony Seikaly with opening sets by Patrick Pizzorni and Marcos Noel.
LLF’s Shining Light Award was presented to Ricky Patel, a community member who embodies the spirit of philanthropy and significantly furthers LLF’s mission. LLF, also, presented its Volunteer of the Year award to 5 volunteers who helped launch LLF’s Kids 4 Kids program in 2017: Alexandra Van Gemerden, Alicia Matho, Gigi Jeffries, Andrea Minski and Fabiana Pereira. LLF also fund-raised at the Hearts & Stars Gala thanks to the Keener Foundation for Giving Matching Grant, founded by 2017 Shining Light Award recipient Justin Keener. The Keener Matching Grant successfully matched up to $50,000 in funds raised. LLF assists underserved children and families. LLF’s support is derived from recruiting and educating passionate, caring, socially conscious volunteers and utilizing them to support LLF programming and beneficiary charities. In 2017, LLF impacted the lives of 7,720 children through 18 programs, 6372 volunteer hours, 469 volunteer opportunities, and 211 corporate partners.
