Lincoln Road will host the second annual Pride Lights the Night – A Tribute to PULSE, Monday, April 2, 2018 at 8:00pm. With the Miami Beach Gay Pride taking place April 2-8, Lincoln Road will kick things off on April 2 with PULSE Nightclub survivor Laura Vargas as she “flips the switch” to light up the iconic 1111 Lincoln in a rainbow of colors. Pride’s signature colors will illuminate 1111 Lincoln throughout the week as part of “Pride Lights the Night.” This beautiful display of unity and remembrance will pay tribute to the victims of PULSE and their families, as well as send a message of support to the entire LGBTQ community.
The Miami Beach Gay Pride Festival has grown from a local neighborhood parade into a full-fledged extraordinary almost week-long extravaganza. About 15,000 people turned out for the first Pride parade in 2009 which has grown into an estimated 130,000 to come out in 2016. In addition to Parade spectators, last April’s event included more than 70 parade contingencies, 35 floats and 3,000 participants. Picture incredible floats with feathered carnival-style dancers, wild hats, glittered costumes, painted faces, rainbow flags, and more down the world famous Ocean Drive. Stages are set up on the beach and you can expect performances from A-list celebrities as they have had in the past from Elvis Duran, Iggy Azalea, Jordin Sparks, Gloria Estefan and Adam Lambert. Get out your costumes, your colorful gay pride t-shirts and shiniest garb and get ready for a good time. Celebrate your pride with strangers who will quickly become your friends. #MiamiBeachPride @MiamiBeachPride
