Circle Haven is a talking group to bond over different forms of artist displacement within the South Florida community, mediated by artist Laura Marsh. Artists will form a circle, feeling cozy in the installations and speak in an informal roundtable format. Marsh will lead the group to discuss personal narratives, social concerns, and explore different goals and outcomes for sustaining creative communities. Displacement from a studio, live/work space, or from a programming space can be traumatic and can offset one’s practice. Those who participate agree to have their narratives film and engage with the three mini-installations situated within the Project Room, providing a village of interactive experiences connected together by Laura Marsh’s passion to create spaces that artists can exist within. The installation will act as an incubator for happenings and dialogues hosted by the artist and privileging the voices of the local creative community.
