Miami New Times hosted its inaugural Burgerfest, offering unlimited samples from over 20 of Miami’s best burger joints, live entertainment, cash bars, and a burger-judging contest. Restaurants participating in the competition were only allowed to use Certified Angus Beef patties and were judged on a variety of components such as combination of flavors to presentation of the burger to the juiciness of the patty. Guests enjoyed a variety of burgers, including traditional, loaded, and veggie.
Restaurants included in strong burger line up for sampling are: The Rusty Pelican, Los Tanitos, Hard Rock Cafe Miami, Big Pink and Prime 112, Salt Kitchen & Lounge, Amelia’s 1931, Amour de Miami, Araxi Burger & Grill, Batch Gastropub, Boss Burger N Brew, Chefs on the Run, Clutch Burger, Doggi’s Arepa Bar, Don Deo Brewing Bar & Grill, Jr’s Gourmet Burger, K.Ramen.Burger.Beer, Killer Melts, Madlove by Latin House, and Shula Burger. Sponsors included Goya, Banyan Reserve Vodka, Dunkin Donuts, Florida Resort XChange, Smart Car of Coral Gables, Brain Freeze Nitrogen Ice Cream, Dezerland, and Oliva Cigars.
VIP admission included one-hour early admission, access to the Certified Angus Beef™ VIP Lounge sponsored by Miami Purveyors, offering a complimentary VIP sponsored bar and unlimited food samples from Certified Angus Beef, and all the perks of general admission. New Times has paired with Wounded Veterans Relief Fund as a charity partner. WVRF will receive a portion of ticket proceeds, and any leftover food will be donated to feed the homeless in Miami-Dade County.
