The Covenant House Florida “Full Moon Party” was held on the pool deck of the Atlantic Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. With stunning ocean views and drinks in hand, guests were donned in their best “beach chic” attire. Guests enjoyed delicious food options such as salad and appetizers, mussels, pasta, and desserts, all which were plentiful on the pool deck. A silent auction items featured hotel stays, gift baskets, spa treatments, and more. Proceeds collected at the event will benefit the homeless youth and young adults who receive shelter, services, and unconditional love at Covenant House Florida.
The Full Moon Party honored three members of the Covenant House organization who gave considerable time and energy planning and executing fundraising events for many years. These members include Eugenia Duncan Ellis from Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, John Haley from Haley Engineering, Inc. and Katie Torres from Cato Insurance Group. Each honoree was presented with a star named after them in the sky by Covenant House Executive Director, Michael Long, and Director of Development, Elisa Stone. As Long said, “Our honorees today are all stars, and have their own now.”
