The Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center (LACC) at Florida International University (FIU) is pleased to invite you to the September 6 launch of our Program of Excellence in Brazilian Studies (PROBRAS).

The Program of Excellence in Brazilian Studies (PROBRAS) is an FIU-wide effort and a key component of LACC’s Emerging Preeminent Program status. PROBRAS is a fundamental component of the Center’s objectives as one of the major actors in the field of regional studies in the United States. PROBRAS is pursuing a vision of growing research, education, and outreach activities related to Brazil at FIU. 

The all-day event on September 6 will include a joint celebration of the Brazilian Bicentennial Independence, including participation by Ambassador André Odenbreit Carvalho, Consul General of Brazil in Miami, as well as other featured guests and speakers. This initial event will be followed by cultural events, interdisciplinary panels and other activities that will take place at FIU and community locations from September-December of 2022. @fiulacc
