The Biltmore cordially invites all wine connoisseurs to experience an educational three-course seminar that includes a complete tasting of Santa Margarita’s portfolio of wines throughout the evening. The owner of Santa Margherita USA, Vittorio Marzotto, and certified sommelier Kristina Sazama, will also be in attendance to share the family’s storied traditions as well as their passion for winemaking. Seminar topics include:
Bubbles and Caviar: An Italian Love Affair – Taste and learn about two of the world’s most appreciated and luxurious delicacies, discovering how the flavors of the caviar are beautifully enhanced by the texture of these Italian bubbles and the varying degrees of body and dryness. Experience the delicious pairing of Calvisius Caviar, one of the finest caviar producers in Italy, and the legendary Italian bubbles producer Ca’ del Bosco. Learn about the history and underlying magic of the world’s most extravagant tandem indulgence.
Tour of Estate Brand Regions – Sample a wine from each of the 6 regions/ wineries where Santa Margherita brands are produced. As you sample you will understand how the vine and territory of origin preserve the quality and sensory characteristics of the wines. Paired with cheeses from the different regions.
History of Santa Margherita – Sommelier Kristina Sazama will guide you through the history of Santa Margherita noting its international success and leading back to its founder, Count Gaetano Marzotto.
General admission is $75, and member admission is $60. There will be an additional charge applied for the Bubbles and Caviar seminar. Patrons must be at least 21 years of age. Tickets are selling fast, but may be purchased online before September 13th. All seminars require registration.
