Join the cast, creative team, producers, and host committee of One Night in Miami…as they celebrate the play at the original location of the historic night in question. Have a unique opportunity to tour the renovated Hampton House and view an exhibition of photos from the era. About the play: On February 25th, 1964, a young Cassius Clay emerges from the Miami Beach Convention Center as the World Heavyweight Boxing Champion. Unable to stay on the island, he celebrates at the Hampton House Motel with his friends: activist Malcolm X, singer Sam Cooke, and football icon Jim Brown. As the Civil Rights Movement stirs outside, and the melody of “A Change is Gonna Come” hangs in the air, the four men set out to change the world. Written by Kemp Powers. Directed by Carl Cofield.
