This year marks the 20th anniversary of the International SeaKeepers Society’s Founders Dinner, held every year during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The most powerful and influential members of the yachting community gathered to celebrated two decades of work in research and education towards the goal of conserving the world’s oceanic biodiversity and health. SeaKeepers 2018 Artist of the Year is Gustavo Oviedo, and the evening also featured:

The event highlighted the key stakeholders in the SeaKeepers Society history and draw attention to this year’s programming from the DISCOVERY Yacht Fleet. The two latest projects were completed by DISCOVERY yacht SHREDDER, which undertook recon dives in the Fort Lauderdale to find healthy coral colonies within 1,000 meters of the Port Everglades channel. More recently, D/Y SHREDDER cruised to Tiger Nay in the Grand Bahamas with Shark Research & Conservation (University of Miami) to collect hydrophone receivers placed at specific coordinates one year prior.
