Two-time Grammy-nominated DJ and Producer Steve Aoki is announcing a special collaboration between his clothing label Dim Mak Collection and the legendary Bruce Lee brand. As a kid, Aoki idolized Bruce Lee – the famed kung-fu master who defied odds onscreen and off, solidifying his legacy and status as a boundary breaking icon. Aoki named his record label and subsequent fashion brand “Dim Mak” as a nod to Bruce Lee’s signature fight move: dim mak – the touch of death. The name itself acting as the constant reminder to stay focused and to forge his own path.
The Dim Mak Collection x Bruce Lee capsule will be launched exclusively at top designer and sneaker retailer UNKNWN’s pop up space in the Wynwood. To celebrate the launch, UNKNWN will host a Q&A with Steve Aoki moderated by Purple, who manages LIV and Story Nightclub, on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 1PM EST, shortly before he takes the stage at LIV Nightclub and American Airlines Arena that evening.
In this exclusive collaboration, Steve Aoki designed 11 new styles with a covetable signature yellow and black striped microfiber athletic tracksuit reminiscent of Bruce Lee’s famed costume from his final film “Game of Death” (1979). Graphics printed on hoodies and t-shirts feature artwork by the highly respected Korean Manga style illustrator Kim Jung Gi. Also being dropped will be a specially designed tie dyed tee for Miami fans, as well as a ticket giveaway for Aoki’s show at American Airlines Arena that night. As always, one special concert goer will get a chance to be caked by Aoki himself. @steveaoki @UNKNWNmiami
