Imagine the future. Set in 2050, Miami’s famed museum-park, the Deering Estate, has been converted into a residential complex made up of tenants who have been displaced or retreated from different parts of the world due to climate change. When rooms become available, they decide to host their first open house while re-opening partially as an art space after recent repairs. The public is invited to visit the property and learn about their way of life. The personal lives and conflicts of the residents, and other strange phenomena, get in the way, and visitors must navigate scenes that explore notions of community, climate change empowerment, loss and love.
Conceived by Susan Caraballo, resident artist at Live Arts Miami and Deering Estate, written by Juan C. Sánchez and co-directed by Jennifer De Castroverde. Created in collaboration with over 30 Miami-based artists. @deeringestate, @liveartsmiami
