Grand Opening Visual Arts Exhibition Celebrates Jazz HeritageFriday, January 6, 6-10pm – Bienes Center for the Arts, 2801 SW 12th Street, Fort Lauderdale

The Jazz Museum of Florida (Jazzonian) proudly presents the Magical World of Jazz Art Multimedia Exhibition featuring original paintings by the late great artist Charles Mills and international renowned Jazz and Latin American singing sensation Maria Rivas, plus works by veteran fine arts photographerRussell Levin.  The exhibit will be hosted during the month of January at the Bienes Center for the Arts and will also present a very special concert by two South Florida Jazz giants together again, vocalist/pianist Mel Dancy and trumpet/flute/saxophonist Ira Sullivan; also featuring two extraordinarily talented young players, bassist Russell Hall (Dillard Center for the Arts High School) and drummer Nicholas Newburg (North Broward Preparatory School) on drums.
All proceeds to benefit the Jazzonian Young Jazz Leaders Scholarship Fund plus cultural arts education outreach programs. Jazzonian is a non-profit 501c3 cultural arts organization.
Opening reception will be on Friday, January 6th, 2012 at the Bienes Center for the Arts lobby featuring live Jazz music. $10 p/p advanced tickets; $20 door admission on the day of the event. Students free.
