PULSE: Late Night at The New World Symphony

Pulse: WHITE OUT at New World Symphony Friday, February 1, 9pm-11pm – New World Center, 500 17th Street, Miami Beach
Back by popular demand, guests enjoyed the special WHITE OUT edition of Pulse: Late Night at the New World Symphony, wearing all white and embracing the evening’s innovative musical experience and aesthetic as the New World Center transformed into a late-night lounge with club-style lighting and video. DJ Le Spam returned to spin alongside NWS Fellows performing jazz by Duke Ellington, Louis Prima and George Gershwin, whirlwind music by John Adams and film favorites from E.T. the Extraterrestrial and Star Trek.
Pulse ended with the world premiere of a work for DJ and orchestra by Sam Hyken – co-founder of Miami’s Nu Deco Ensemble and an NWS alumnus. Immediately after the performance guest joined the Fellows for a more intimate experience in the SunTrust Pavilion concert hall for Pulse: Unplugged! This edition of Unplugged featured a piece by Iranian-American composer Sahba Aminikia titled “Bāde Sabā” for three flutes.
