60th I AM MDC Day

60th I AM MDC DaySunday, September 6, Online

Miami Dade College opened the door to the American Dream on Sept. 6, 1960. Every year on that day – officially proclaimed as “I AM MDC Day” in the city of Miami and across Miami-Dade County – thousands of alumni, students, parents, friends, neighbors, faculty and staff come together to celebrate the many lives changed and MDC’s community-wide impact. This year, the College turns 60!

The mission of Miami Dade College Foundation is to raise essential private funds that enable Miami Dade College to change lives, families, communities, and the world through the opportunity of education. The Foundation raises essential private funds for student scholarships, STEM education, arts and culture, entrepreneurship, workforce training, and other programs that elevate our Miami community. About 44% of students live below the federal poverty line, 51% of them are the first in their family to go to college, and 57% are from low-income households. All dollars raised on I AM MDC Day will benefit scholarships for MDC students and the programs, such as the Foundation, that support them.

Our students’ dreams are on the line. Together, with you, we can make sure they reach the finish line. Help us spread the word and encourage your friends and networks to join in on the fun by using #IAMMDC on social media. Want to be featured on our pages to inspire other members of the MDC family?
