Two days after the opening of her SoHo location, Stella McCartney opened the fifth US location in Bal Harbour Shops. Bal Harbour Magazine hosted a cocktail party to celebrate the opening of the 1,270-square-foot store. Much like McCartneys designs, the event was youthful and colorful. A Thierry’s Catering and Event Design provided guests popcorn fresh from a classic machine to compliment a delicious Pink Martini while three models in Stella McCartney designs handed guests vibrant rainbow lollipops.
The event also served to introduce the Spring/Summer 2012 ready-to-wear collection featuring McCarney’s famous bold prints and asymmetrical structure and patterns. But it wasn’t all about the fashion, renowned artist David Batchelor teamed up with Stella McCartney for the Bal Harbour store. The storefront displays a light installation designed by the artist and his work can also be seen inside.
Guests were invited to enter a raffle and the lucky winner won some “Stella Goodies” along with a David Batchelor signed poster, other guests who didn’t want to leave empty-handed were able to bid on an autographed book of Batchelor’s work. The store is sure to be a success after an excellent welcome celebration to Bal Harbour. Welcome to Miami, Stella!
