Sunday, January 22, 1-6pm – Central Park Miami, 1300 South Miami Avenue, Miami Brickell
The 1st Annual Downtown Food and Wine Festival at Brickell will take place on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Central Park Miami, the new indoor/outdoor entertainment venue in the heart of downtown. This one-day event, produced by Big Crowd Factor, will bring together a selection of the best restaurants in Miami and a wide variety of world renowned wine and spirits distributed by Republic National Distributing Company. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Jorge Posada Foundation, a non-for profit entity that raises awareness and supports families dealing with Craniosynostosis. Craniosynostosis occurs when an infant’s bones of the skull fuse prematurely, which results in an abnormally shaped head. The condition affects 1 in every 2,000 births in the United States. Early surgical intervention by a multi-disciplinary team of doctors is the key to effective treatment of the condition.
The event will begin with a VIP Tasting at noon and will open for regular admission ticket holders at 1:00 p.m. for a three-hour tasting experience. General admission tickets are $75 and VIP admission tickets are $150. Through the festival’s conclusion at 6 p.m., guests will be able to enjoy cooking demonstrations by Johnson and Wales University faculty members, live musical performances by Performance Arts Exchange and much more in addition to the food and drinks.
“We are excited to partner with Central Park Miami and Republic National Distributing Company to bring quality wine and spirits and culinary delights to what has become the entertainment and nightlife center of downtown Miami,” said Luis Gonzalez, Chair of Big Crowd Factor.
The event is sponsored by Republic National Distributing Company, the Miami Downtown Development Association, Central Park Miami, Rums of Puerto Rico, Miami New Times and 101.5 LITE FM. The master of ceremonies will be Lauren Bernat, host of ChatChowTVâ„¢, a video podcast that goes behind the scenes with the chefs, owners and mixologists of Florida’s celebrated food industry.
