SUN-Flower Anti Trafficking Rally and Proclamation

SUN-Flower Anti Trafficking Rally and ProclamationTuesday, July 30, 5:30pm-7:45pm – Gramps, 176 NW 24th Street, Miami Wynwood Arts District

July 30 is World Day against Trafficking in Persons as declared by the United Nations. In cities around the globe, people will come together to raise their voices, generate awareness and increase vigilance around this horrific crime. In Miami, Ark of Freedom Alliance, a human rights organization, is commemorating the observance with a grassroots-style public event and rally. Proclamation to be presented by counter-trafficking pioneer, Barbara Martinez, Chief of the Special Prosecutions Section for the Miami U.S. Attorney’s Office, Department of Justice, Criminal Division, and Human Trafficking Coordinator for the Southern District of Florida.

The theme for this year’s event is the bold and resilient SUNflower, with SUN being an acronym for “See Us Now.” A message of empowerment for the victims and survivors of human trafficking, while also intended to reverberate with anyone that has felt overlooked, marginalized, socially excluded, and vulnerable.

Come early to personalize a rally sign and tie blue ribbons around your free SUNflower (limited supplies). Don’t forget to don your brightest yellow and blue! Enjoy 50 percent off happy hour prices on bar drinks, while listening to music during the networking social.  #WorldDayAgainstTraffickingMiami @kristihousecac @arkoffreedomalliance
