This event is part of a larger community-led initiative to build bridges, break silos, increase empathy, and connect across lines of difference: The 10 Days of Connection. After the preview of this incredible documentary, we will have a post-screening panel comprised of Lynn Novick (Director of College Behind Bars), Sebastian Yoon (Program Specialist at Open Society Foundations & BPI alum), and Mahlia Lindquist (Executive Director of LEAP).
This event will seek to educate our community on the importance of prison serving a rehabilitative role for those who are incarcerated. In addition, it will address the need for society to develop a better understanding on the importance and value of educating our nations prison population. We hope that people will be able to come together for a dialogue on one of the most pressing issues of our time; mass incarceration. Finally, we will have a few questions for our panel that will specifically address what activism for this issue looks like now with COVID-19 in mind.
