This Clean Water Conversation will take a look at what’s going on with the Everglades Agricultural Area Reservoir, a $1.8 billion project proposed for south of Lake Okeechobee. The Army Corps of Engineers’ insistence on a “New Start” status for the project diverts $130 million from the reservoir to the C-23/24 projects and is likely to delay construction of the reservoir by at least a year. Our panelists will dive deeper into what that means for the long-anticipated project and whether or not this setback presents an opportunity to improve the design so that it cleans more water before sending it south.
