The evening of celebration included live auction and most importantly a “Celebrity Karaoke Contest” featuring your favorite Miami Heat players and other Miami sports figures. Each karaoke contestant was judged on entertainment value, crowd interaction, vocals and overall performances. Battioke judges were Jeffrey Donovan, from hit show “Burn Notice”, Desmond Howard, Heiman Trophy winner and Super Bowl MVP and model Christine Teigen. The night MS’s were Geoff Stults, star of FOX’s new hit show “The Finder” and Jason Jackson, six-time Emmy winner.
Shane and Heidi Battier established The Battier Take Charge Foundation in January 2010 to encourage and inspire leadership qualities in young people. The Battier’s believe that furthering education for at-risk students is crucial in the attempt to encourage young leaders who may not otherwise have the means to attend college. The Foundation serves to award scholarships to at-risk students who have proven themselves to be deserving young leaders.
