March of Dimeshosts their annual March for Babies event to raise funds for research and programs for stronger, healthier babies. With past Miami participants including Jennifer Lopez, John Secada, Carlos Ponce, Nestor Torres and many more, March for Babies is one of Americaâ€™s favorite fundraisers. Thousands participate in the three-mile walk to help more than 230,000 Florida babies born every year survive and thrive with proper support. Alongside Shaquille O’Neal, national celebrity spokesperson, 2012 is aimed to help provide hundreds of families whose newborns are hospitalized with the right aid to avoid premature births, birth defects and infant death. This yearâ€™s March for Babies will gather some of Miamiâ€™s top socialites, corporate and community leaders. Celebrities as Niki Taylor, internationally famed model, Farrah Abraham from MTVâ€™s Teen Mom, and community leaders, such as Â Mike Meredith from Publix Super Markets, Felipe Busto from TD Bank, Gene Schaefer from Bank of America, Phillis Oeters from Baptist Health South Florida, Frank Newman from Wells Fargo and many more. There is no cost to participate, but all walkers are asked to raise a minimum of $200.
