MIAMI VINYL: The History of Record-Making in Miami, Part I: The 1970s and earlier Friday, April 5, 6-9pm – Miami Art Museum, 101 West Flagler Street, Miami

Begin with a panel discussion hosted by Andrew Yeomanson, producer, Miami music historian and DJ LeSpam of Spam Allstars and then stick around for a party led by guest DJ Mr. Brown, spinning the best of ’60s-’70s soul and funk. Joining Yeomanson will be Willie J. Clarke, Jeff Lemlich and Henry Stone. The exhibition The Record: Contemporary Art and Vinyl, and other works are on view in MAM’s galleries. Doors open at 6 p.m., panel discussion begins at 6:30 and DJ sets at 7:30. Seating is limited for discussion. MAM members are free, non-members $8. Secure garage parking is available at 50 N.W. 2nd Avenue for $5.
