Tom of Finland, born Touko Laaksone in Kaarina, Finland, is known throughout the international art world for his extraordinary homoerotic drawings. An exhibition of his work, Tom of Finland: Male Masterworks will open at the World Erotic Art Museum. Art collector Volker Morlock, who is involved with the Tom of Finland Foundation, will be special guest speaker at the opening night reception. Finland studied art in Helsinki and later was urged by advertising colleagues to submit his drawings to the American body building magazine, Physique Pictorial. The 1957 cover story of a laughing lumberjack became a sensation establishing his name as “Tom of Finland.†View the work Mon – Thu from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fri & Sat from 11 a.m. to midnight. Admission is $15, and no one under 18 is admitted.
