The New World Symphony presents the highlight of the FRIENDS season with an exclusive opportunity to engage in conversation with Michael Tilson Thomas and world-renowned New World Symphony Fellows on this year’s excellence. The one-of-a-kind discussion will be followed by a performance from Fellows: Mendelssohn’s Octet in E-flat major, Op. 20, offering a true chamber-style performance amongst FRIENDS high-profile Patron level members. Chamber music, because of its intimate nature, has historically been described as “the music of friends.” Drinks courtesy of GREY GOOSE Vodka and Vega Wines, Hors d’oeuvres and Sweet Treats. Michael Tilson Thomas is among the most famous American conductors and composers of our time with an extensive repertoire that reflects his colorful and eclectic style. As the founder of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, he was awarded the National Medal of Arts, the highest award given to artists by the United States Government.
