All-you-can-eat boiled shrimp and fixins, open bar (beer and wine) and steel drum music await those who will attend the Saturday, April 21st, 3rd Annual “Toes in the Sand Shrimp Boil on the Beach” fundraiser benefiting Angel’s Pediatric Heart House (APHH). This year, the organization will honor a local medical professional – Dr. Frank Scholl, Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and Surgical Director of Pediatric Cardiac Transplant at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital – and a local pediatric heart family. In addition to food, drinks and entertainment, guests will enjoy a silent and Chinese auction. Attire is beach chic and must be 21 and over to attend. APHH provides non-medical financial support for basic human needs during a child’s hospital stay for open heart surgery; an infant items donation program to heart families in need; free Family Fun Days to bring CHD families together in a non-medical, fun environment; ‘Sweet Heart Day’ a customized day of fun activities for heart transplant kids and peer-to-peer support. “Toes in the Sand” is being presented by The Wasie Foundation. Mel DiPietro of Resource Benefits Inc. is the event’s Honorary Chair. Advance ticket are $30 per person or $50 per person at door.
