Graphic Intervention: 25 Years of International AIDS Awareness Posters 1985-2010Thursday, May 10, 6-8pm – The Wolfsonian-FIU, 1001 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach

Graphic Intervention welcoming remarks by director Cathy Leff, followed by members’ preview. The presentation of Graphic Intervention at The Wolfsonian marks the donation of more than 3,600 AIDS-themed posters from over 80 countries, produced between 1985 and 2010. Showcasing 153 posters from 44 countries, the exhibition presents a comprehensive overview of the diverse visual strategies employed by government agencies, community activists, grassroots organizations, and motivated citizens to educate the local population in response to HIV/AIDS. The exhibition is organized by Elizabeth Resnick and Javier Cortés in collaboration with James Lapides, International Poster Gallery, Boston, and Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Boston. Free for members and the FIU Community; $10 all others.
