Friday, June 22, 7pm – The Wolfsonian–FIU, 1001 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach
The Wolfsonian-FIU will present Pecha Kucha: Positive Interventions (Japanese for “chit chat”), curated by Carl Hildebrandt. This high-energy showcase of ideas started in Japan in 2003. Each presenter is allowed 20 images for a power point presentation that is shown for 20 seconds each, adding up to 6 minutes and 40 seconds of fame before the next presenter is up. This keeps presentations concise, interest level up and gives the opportunity for more people to express their ideas. Presenters include Carl Hildebrand, The Girl Effect; Nikki Fisher, American Civil Liberties Union of Florida; Daddy Dab, Dab the AIDS Bear Project; Simone Brown, Lock Your Meds; Steve Stagon, World AIDS Museum; Maria Mejia, A Girl Like Me; Irwin Drucker, Positive Young People; Sister Robin Merrill, AIDS Art Therapy Cards; Kate Rawlinson, The Wolfsonian-FIU. Curated by Carl Hildebrand, Pecha Kucha-Miami. Free for Wolfsonian members; $10 for non-members.
