Simply Healthcare, one of the largest Medicare and Medicaid providers in the state of Florida, and their healthcare advocate, Earvin “Magic” Johnson continue their support of the community with the introduction of the “Mind, Body, Magic” mini-series, which will provide tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle amid the current pandemic. The mini-series will feature Earvin “Magic” Johnson and a series of Florida health experts sharing insights on relevant health topics and will connect viewers to helpful resources. The mini-series will consist of a total of four episodes on health topics, including:
Episode 1 Becoming an Empowered Patient:
Dr. Marlow Hernandez, Chief Executive Officer of Cano Health and Dr. Hansel Tookes, Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine will be educating the community on how to become an empowered patient.
Episode 2 Humanity & Humility:
Dr. Lanetta Bronte-Hall, leading national and international researcher and population health scientist in the field of sickle cell disease and Brian Postlewait, Deputy Director at Homeless Services Network will be giving insight on the importance of learning empathy and supporting vulnerable communities, especially amidst current circumstances.
Episode 3 Nurturing Our Minds:
Dr. Leon Mandler, licensed psychologist will be covering the importance of mental health as well as provide families–both parents and children alike–coping mechanisms to help through uncertain times.
Episode 4 Our First Line of Defense: The Importance of Immunizations:
Dr. Paul Offit, Director of the Vaccine Education Center at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Dr. Lisa Gwynn, Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Public Health Sciences at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine and Medical Director for the Pediatric Mobile Clinic will provide viewers insight on the importance of immunizations and the Covid-19 vaccine.
