New Theatre will inaugurate its Miami 1-Acts Festival with 14 playwrights, 14 directors and 36 actors donating their talents to make it a success. The plays will be presented in 2 programs. Program A will be performed Friday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 5:30. It is comprised of Durafab (Robert Caisley); A Moment of Romance (James Carrey); The Clearing (Juan C. Sanchez); Hamlet Master Class (Sandra Riley); Controlled Substances (Catherine Bush); He Bit Her (Ricky J. Martinez); and Dad’s Got the Mic (Vanessa Garcia). Program B will be performed Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1. Its plays are Regret (David Caudle); God Knows (Ruth Pleva and Elly Rakowitz); F**k this Clown (Edward G. Excalibur); Dinner at the End of the World (Andie Arthur); Dirty (Christopher De Paola); Passing Through (Susie Westfall); and Tunisia (Daniel Valls). Tickets are $10 with a happy hour one hour prior to curtain with beer for a $2.50 donation.
