Safeguarding American Values for Everyone (SAVE) and the SAVE Foundation have announced their 2021 Champions of Equality Awards Gala to honor community achievers, elected officials, and dedicated foundations who have distinguished themselves in the fight for LGBTQ equality, safeguarding democracy, and providing critical support to South Florida residents in the face of unprecedented challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. SAVE has decided to hold this year’s awards gala virtually on September 23rd.
SAVE is also excited to announce that this year’s virtual gala will be hosted by Representative Brian Sims, Pennsylvania’s first openly gay elected legislator and frontrunner to be the next lieutenant governor. Elected in 2012, Sims is also a lawyer and activist on LGBTQ civil rights.
Participation in the event is free. All proceeds from the event will support SAVE’s work to protect people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) against discrimination. Donations are kindly encouraged and can be made here. #SAVEChampions @SAVELGBT
