Feeding South Florida will team up with Stars of Tomorrow, Inc. , Tampa Bay Buccaneers player E. J. Biggers and Philadelphia Eagles player Max Jean-Gilles to provide a mobile food pantry at The 3rd Annual Hangout Day on Saturday, July 21. During the free event which is open to the public, the mobile food pantry will provide 15,000 pounds of nutritious produce to those who are facing hunger. Several NFL players, including Biggers and Jean-Gilles, will be distributing food at the event. Over 2,000 people are expected to attend.
In an effort to provide those who are food insecure in underserved communities with nutritious foods, Feeding South Florida operates the mobile food pantry truck throughout South Florida. The refrigerated vehicle is part of a nationwide fleet from Kraft Foods (the Kraft Foods Mobile Pantry Program) and its Foundation in partnership with Feeding America.
The 3rd Annual Hangout Day, taking place Friday, July 20 through Saturday July 21, is a free weekend of events for underserved children including a charity basketball game, youth football and cheerleading camp, complimentary food and drinks, health screenings, and more. Free backpacks and school supplies are distributed to children attending. To support the fight against hunger in South Florida, Stars of Tomorrow, Inc will donate $1,000 to Feeding South Florida.
