The latest edition of Big Night in Little Haiti will present Amigos do Samba, a group of Brazilian musicians who perform the traditional samba music of Rio de Janeiro in its most joyous and danceable form. At 8 p.m. Manno Charlemagne, an iconic Haitian folk singer, poet and statesman will appear in concert. As the conscience of Haiti, Manno uses his acoustic guitar, poetic words and beautiful voice to speak out. His music comes from Haiti’s “twoubadou” folk music style, influenced by Haitian rhythms with a range of Cuban and Caribbean influences. The evening is sponsored by the Rhythm Foundation.
