Galleria Ca’d’oro presents a special event commemorating the dates that marked the life of Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe: Tribute to a Female Icon is dedicated to the American actress and features works by Seward Johnson, Valentina De Martini, Pablo Echaurren, Ludmilla Radchenko, Andy Warhol, Mimmo Rotella, Leonardo Hidalgo, Erika Calesini and Monica Casali. The 18-work exhibition includes a life-size Marilyn wearing a white dress immortalized by Seward Johnson in her most famous pose, along with pop interpretations and Marilyn series by Warhol and Rotella. Marilyn Monroe | Tribute to a Female made its successful debut in June 8th, 2012 at the nineteenth-century Palazzo Wedekind in Piazza Colonna, in Rome, Italy, only a few days after what would have been Marilyn’s 86th birthday. For this symbolic reason curators Gloria Porcella and Lamberto Petrecca chose the months of June and August for the double launch of the exhibition. The exhibition’s celebratory reception is free and open to the public.
