Several years ago, Japanese owner Yoko Takarada opened the popular World Resources CafÃ© on Lincoln Road. After searching for the perfect location in the charming Buena Vista/Design District area, she opened Shokudo (meaning â€œpath/journey to foodâ€ when written in Japanese characters), July 27th, 2012. Takarda says the theme of her restaurant is simple, delicious, comfort foods she grew up with as a child. Executive Chef Armando Litiatco, a San Francisco native, has worked in the Kitchen of critically acclaimed Boulevard in San Francisco. Chef Litiatco also held a position in New York City with famous Chef Daniel Boulud at Daniel restaurant. The pan Asian menu is inspired from dishes found in Vietnam, Japan, Korea and China. Cost is $40 per person (cash only), and includes bottle of house prosecco, chardonnay or merlot per four guests. Tax and Gratuity are inclusive. Ample street parking and valet parking available.
