The Wolfsonian-FIU and the Italian Film Festival will present a free screening of Il Padre e lo Straniero (The Father and the Foreigner); Italy, Ricky Tognazzi, 2010, Italian with English subtitles, 110 minutes. Two very different men, both with disabled children, bond in this dramatic thriller that was the IFF 2011 Closing Night Film. Italian businessman Diego uses work excuses to distance himself from his handicapped son, while Walid. a mysterious Syrian, lavishes affection on his disfigured infant. The friendship will deeply change both men as the connection between the two shifts and deepens in unexpected ways. Screening is free. There will also be a guided tour of the museum at 6 p.m. on a first come first served basis.
