“Imagine” the 9th Annual Gala of His House Children’s Home, took place at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami. Sponsored by Azamara Club Cruises, Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises and hosted by Christine Cruz of WSVN Channel 7 News, this wonderful event was His House Children’s Home’s biggest fundraiser of the year benefiting abused, abandoned and neglected children.
Treated to delicious hors d’oeuvres and a sumptuous dinner, over 300 guests enjoyed an evening of music, dancing, special presentations and an extravagant silent as well as live auction. Donors were eager to bid on a diverse selection of more than 100 luxurious and unusual items the proceeds of which directly impact the lives of South Florida’s children and families in crisis through residential, foster and adoption services. A special guest of the evening was Marco Rubio who has served South Florida as junior United States Senator since January 2011.
Guest speakers included the Founder & Executive Director of His House, ‘Mama’ Jean Caceres-Gonzalez, and Mark Rufeh, Vice Chairman of Citigroup who is married to the gala’s co-chair, Patricia Cabrera-Rufeh. Sharing exceptionally special and personal accounts of how their lives have been so positively changed through the love and generosity of His House Children’s Home were Kendra Walker and Sandra Milena Meneces. The evening also included song, dance and gymnastics performances by the children of His House Children’s Home.
