Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade 6th Annual “Wild About Kids” Gala

Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade Sixth Annual “Wild About Kids” Gala at the Four SeasonsSaturday, October 20, 7pm – Four Seasons Hotel Brickell, 1435 Brickell Avenue, Miami

Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade hosted its sixth annual “Wild About Kids” black-tie optional gala at the Four Seasons Hotel Brickell. Gala proceeds benefited Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade and its many positive programs for 10,000 area children who need them the most. The Gala was voted one of BizBash’s Top 100 Events of 2011. BizBash selects annual gatherings based on their impact on their respective industries and communities (and on the city) while innovating to stay on top. Danell Leyva, who won the bronze medal at the London 2012 Summer Olympics for men’s gymnastics, was honored at the event with Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Hometown Hero Award. He was also taking photos & having a meet & greet with Bronze Sponsors and higher, and speaking at the event. Leyva, who came to the US from Cuba when he was a young boy with his mother and sister, is an inspirational example of the American Dream. Guests enjoyed a unique “live” red carpet welcome as they entered a cocktail reception and silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind items, dinner program, live music, dancing and much more. Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade alumna 13-year-old Elizabeth Elias was singing the National Anthem to kick off the dinner program. All attendees had the opportunity at the event to sponsor a child through donations. Once again, the gala emcee was Lynn Martinez, anchor of WSVN’s Deco Drive. The celebration continued with an after party at the Four Seasons Hotel Brickell starting at 11pm, which included more music, dancing, a full bar and tapas-style food.
