Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Floridaâ€™sÂ (RMHC) 30thÂ Anniversary celebration continues at Giancarlo Jewelry Designâ€™sÂ Charity Night. The family-owned and operated jeweler will donate 20% of all sales directly to RMHC, in support of the charityâ€™s 30thÂ Anniversary. The event is open to the public; light hors dâ€™oeuvresÂ and cocktails will be served.The story of RMHC began in August 1982, when South Floridaâ€™s veryÂ first Ronald McDonald House opened its doors to provide a â€œhome awayfrom homeâ€ for critically ill children undergoing treatment at theÂ areaâ€™s pediatric hospitals. Over the past thirty years, the charityÂ grown to help more than 24,000 families get through the harrowingÂ experience of a childâ€™s hospitalization. RMHC also annually providesÂ both grants to other non-profits that work with children and collegeÂ scholarships to African-American and Hispanic high school students inÂ South Florida.
