The InterContinental Make-A-Wish Starlight Nightclub held its 5th Annual event. The InterContinental Miami was turned into a hip after-hours venue with India infused culture, decor, and sounds. The theme, in alignment with the Make-A-Wish Ball, was Bollywood. Performers entertained the crowd while they waited for the much anticipated fashion show by world-renowned cutting-edge designer Traver Rains. The Starlight Nightclub’s goal is to raise enough revenue to grant wishes to 10 amazing children who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses.
Traver Rains, former co-creator of Heatherette, lunched his new line with the creative vision of mixing his cowboy roots with the added city glamour flare. The line is as eclectic as its designer, combining casual apparel and couture designs, in a vivacious manner. T.Rains collection it’s characterized by the usage of lightweight fabrics, bold prints and vibrant colors. The runway debut of the Bollywood inspired designs included bubble style dresses, separates for men and women, swimsuits, cover-ups, and intricate evening gowns.
The color palette was bright tones of blue and green, alongside magentas and platinum, and the inclusion of shimmery fabrics. As a creative way to show more of the artistic side of India, Mr. Rains had the models walk with their faces painted in intense colors and shapes, which were inspired by the artwork of Marco Tolentino. The accessories were a true Indian dream with traditional Tikkas, ankle bracelets, hand jewelry and coin sequined belly scarves.
